Frugality Verified Buyer –
Excellent quality, but huge disappointment for me. The stem on the ball in my very old Peerless shower faucet has a DIAMOND shaped cross section, not round. The hole in the adapter is too small. I may be able to replace the ball with one from Delta, which has a ROUND shaped stem with a flat place for the set screw to seat.
With bad luck for me, the Delta and Peerless balls are probably not interchangeable.

Faucets are not designed the same. Repeat, faucets are not designed the same. If you’re replacing one, take the old one off, examine the inner connectors, *then* buy a replacement. Don’t do what I did, buy a “universal” replacement that doesn’t fit at all, then have to rely on grainy photos to see if a particular replacement has the same guts as the one you’re fixing.
This one has a single piece that slides over a center post and tightens to that with an Allen screw, then the knob itself screws onto the end of that piece. It doesn’t turn, it just moves that shaft.
Once I got the right one (this one) it’s better than the original, as the inner piece is metal, the the cheap plastic that stripped out of my original. So if this is the one you need — and again, check before buying — you’ll be happy with this.

Ordered for an older shower. It was not even close to fitting. Description is very vague and offers very little usable information. Spent an hour on the phone with Delta support to hopefully find the right knob. Wanted to return the incorrect knob but Delta doe not accept returns for items 1) Under $15 and 2) Not purchased from the Delta store.

But the knob hole shape I need is a foot ball shaped knob hole to fit onto my showers foot ball shaped stem.

This replaced the knob from and unknown manufacturer that I bought decades ago. It’s a 3 piece unit consisting of the knob, a metal sleeve, and the decorative cap. The metal sleeve is centered inside the knob.
No instructions are included, but it’s easy to figure out and requires a phillips screwdriver and an allen wrench (neither are included).
To install it you pop the cover off the knob and unscrew the phillips head screw. this will release the metal sleeve. place the metal sleeve on the shaft that controls the water flow and tighten the allen bolt so that the sleeve is firmly attached to the shaft. Slide the knob over the sleeve, ensuring that the knob is fully seated. insert the phillips head screw into the knob and tighten (do not drop the screw and let it fall into the drain!) Align the cover and press into place. You’re done.

I had been looking for a knob replacement forever for a shower bathroom. Had tried 4 others from local store none of them fit. This one fit like a dream. Many thanks to the person who submitted the review with a picture of their valve as it helped me identify that this one would work for us too!!
The only issue I had is that it does not come with an Allen wrench to tighten the set screw.
